First Rule: 
Copy original photo and work on the copy!

• This is a copy of the original image. The photo is too crowded.

•  I cropped out the adults as best I could without loosing my  subjects, the children.

• In the final photo, the clone tool was used to copy foliage to replace the adult.

Roll mouse back-and-forth over the image below, to view the results achieved with the clone tool.

Note: the foliage repeated just behind the lady's elbow. With a little more time and patience this could be improved greatly.
