Columbia Icefields Area

Jasper National Park

To many who visit this area of Jasper, the Athabasca Glacier (seen here) is the Columbia Icefield, because that is all they see from the highway.

 In fact, it is only one of six major glaciers that flow out of the Columbia Icefield that covers 325 square kilometers (126 square miles).
